The bulk of the material presented here was compiled by my great great uncle, Irving Pierce Beckett, in March of 1949. My plan is to continue where he left off and fill in as many blanks as I can along the way.

Prodesse Civibus

In the spirit of our family motto, I must point out that some of my relative's text contains evidence of prejudice and bigotry. I chose not to edit those passages - at the risk of offending some -  so that those who follow us can testify to the end of hatred and intolerance within the Beckett family tree.

Daniel G. Beckett, Jr.

Introduction from the original text
"A short biographical history in words and pictures of our paternal and maternal families, and dedicated to the memory of our beloved father and mother*, William Benson Beckett and Dorcas (Hanes) Beckett.

"Compiled March 15, 1949 by Irving Pierce Beckett, oldest child of William Benson Beckett and Dorcas (Hanes) Beckett, and presented to his brothers and sisters as a token of his esteem and love."

*All generational references from the original text are now four generations past. William Benson Beckett is my great great great grandfather.
