1999 | Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4 | Day 5 | Day 6 | Day 7 | 1994 | 2000 | 2002 In September 1999 we set out again for the Brent access point along the north end of the park. We encountered more adversities on this trip than in past years, but overall, the trip was immensely enjoyable. The weather was much cooler and rainier than we had experienced before. On our fourth soggy day, the yoke in our rented canoe broke, requiring us to cut short our time in the interior by two days. However, we experienced our greatest success for wildlife photography to date, as you will see along the virtual tour. We also spent three nights altogether at Arrowhead Provincial Park, just to the east of
Algonquin, and were able to enjoy a couple of dinners of fresh brook trout. Before starting on Algonquin, we spent a night at Arrowhead to acclimate ourselves since we had a rookie canoe tripper this year. We had some success fishing that first evening, and decided to stay at Arrowhead two additional nights at the end of the trip since we had to leave Algonquin early due to the rain and equipment problems. |
